My daughter's due to start at WK in September, and I'm looking into what to do re bus passes.

We live in Irby, 4.5 miles from the school, we do not receive benefits, and our daughter does not have special needs.

Having read the info online:

https://www.wirral.gov.uk/my-services/c ... port/trave

It seems to me that she is not eligible to a free pass, as although the school is over 3 miles away, Pensby school is closer than that. The cost of a term bus pass from merseytravel is £80, so around £240 per year.

Seems a bit of an odd policy, as surely any responsible parent would want to send their child to the grammar school if they have been given a place :(

Just checking that I'm not missing anything?

Hi
If you live in Irby then she should be able to get the school bus to West Kirby ,which costs 50 p each way payable on the bus for each journey ,it is run by Merseytravel and is usually a Big Al's bus

here is the link to the various services going to West Kirby - hopefully one goes from a stop near to you .

Hope that helps
Pensby
