My daugter is in 7 years old in YR3 (8 at end of August)...is there an approriate VR test that we could do now which would indicate if she are likely to be in the range for 11+

I would suggest "working together" rather than testing, learn the techniques in a fun way. IPS S starter series are good, even better value Tutors e-papers beginner level 1, from this website :)

Cut them up into strips of five questions, makes it less daunting.

Also good if the parent/tutor learns the correct techniques before teaching, I remember me and DS1 making up our own techniques.

I think it is good to start early, you can always take a break, I would not be looking to make a judgment on ability at this stage.

I will run away and hide from those that say it is too early to start. If the child is able and willing let them have a go. :)

make it fun, work through them as puzzles.

build up her vocabulary too, word games like scrabble and boggle, wordsearches, every little helps!
