I've just been reading through Mike's technique guide which I think is a great resource, but how applicable are the techniques to students taking the standard, rather than multiple choice paper? Does anyone have any suggestions for one more geared to the standard paper or should I stick with this?

Dear Ourmaminhavana

The Techniques for standard and Multiple Choice are quite different. eg

1] Multiple choice, a number of questions can be answered directly from the anwser sheet [saving time]

2] Many questions including the codes and others, only part of the question needs to be worked out.

3] Some questions 5 choices of letter are given, therefore the answer is only 1 out of 5 instead of 1 out of 26

For standard form techniques, Susan Daughtrey books 1 - 4 cover the method of 35plus different questions.

Do you know who are the publishers of the test your child is sitting?

Patricia

Thanks for your quick reply Patricia. No, despite asking numerous people, including the school itself, I don't know who the publishers are!
