Sadly on my desk I have some index cards where I record families of words as they pop up, for example hand tools, religious buildings and people, ranks!, obscure colours, trees, flowers, fish, writing tools, boats, transport parking areas, landscape types, units of time, garden tools, building trades, fasteners, etc. Would any one like to add a few more.

If you like lists of things, you'll love the Sporcle website www.sporcle.com
Be warned though, it is very addictive.
