Please share, I don't check unless DC has the answer wrong (according to answer sheet)!Razzy wrote: [Now - I spotted an error in someone's maths paper the other day ...]
Re: Type 17 (Complete the Sum) and BODMAS
NFER used to set the 11+ test in Kent. Who makes sure that these actual papers are worded correctly and the answers are correct? Losing a little faith in the examiners. Razzy that was good determination I must say. I have seen a few errors and one question without a question in the new set of NFER/Letts papers but I just let it pass which is bad.
By the way were these the new or old papers with errors?

Impossible is Nothing.
Re: Type 17 (Complete the Sum) and BODMAS
This would be going off-topic under VR, I have just reported the problem and I was going to give them an opportunity to address it, and hopefully report on the Maths forum that a correction was available.beebee wrote:Please share, I don't check unless DC has the answer wrong (according to answer sheet)!Razzy wrote: [Now - I spotted an error in someone's maths paper the other day ...]
[It is a bit of a niggle in that the question did not have a valid answer - it was about a rectangle with a fixed perimeter and was asking which area was not possible {Q45 if you have that paper}; unfortunately because they had not said the rectangle must have sides that are whole numbers, all the answers were possible. Bit of an embarrassment IMHO rather than badly misleading.]
Re: Type 17 (Complete the Sum) and BODMAS
Sherry - You still seem confused about the papers.
The recent Letts papers are NOT Nfer/GL papers.
Nfer/GL still set the test in Kent.

Re: Type 17 (Complete the Sum) and BODMAS
Oh Yeap I still get a bit muddled up about the Letts/NFER
I have both sets and the covers are exactly the same, a bit misleading so its a bit harder to differentiate. So we are talking about the new Letts papers here not old ones? Still not sure?

Not sure if it is old or new - I got it in the Letts Variety Pack 1, red/orange colour scheme with Penguins. ISBN 978-1-84419-252-6. I bought them from Waterstones a couple of months back - but I don't know how long these things stay in the distribution channels.sherry_d wrote:NFER used to set the 11+ test in Kent. From comments I have read elsewhere I believe that NFER (now GL Assessment) and Letts are now operating independently of each other.
If you are contacting them about the VR paper you could also submit your observations of errors. My take on things is that in life mistakes, while unwelcome and undesirable, are inevitable - it is how people/companies react when they are advised of mistakes that says most about them; I am really pleased Letts are making a correction available - and, of course, future parents/DCs treading this path should not have these errors to deal with.

Hi,
I wonder if Letts have corrected the verbal reasoning papers. I couldn't find any reference to the availability of the corrected sheets on their website.
If any one has recently bought the (new) Letts papers would you please consider checking this type of question and posting on here.
Thanks.
