I think I've lost the plot and need some help- Susan Daughtrey type 32 questions - codes

Can anyone tell me how to get to these answers:

If PAW is written KZD then HOOF is written SLLU

If MOON is NLLM then XOLFW is ..........

if CROW is written XILD then NEST is written MVHG

if URHS means FISH then YRIW means BIRD

Lots more of these my ds gets right but these ones he gets wrong ? Why

Thanks

Loo

Have you heard of mirror code. Write the alphabet one way, then re-write it underneath in the opposite way. So under A is Z, under B is Y etc..I think it is of this type in some cases

Yes, I also thought I'd lost the plot the first time I saw these. They crop up in one or two of the IPS tests even though the IPS book doesn't cover them.

We use magnetic letters on the fridge to help with recognizing/remembering the mirror code pairings (AZ, BY, MN etc.)

And proof the places at grammars go to children who've been taught. It's not a measure of native intelligence. It's so dependent on whether the right material has been covered.

Correct, places go to those that score high enough. Preparation is key like anything in life. Those that don't prepare, then it's gown to pure luck.

On the whole I still agree but what is pleasing about DS passing the Brum KECH exams is the absence of any past papers and being set by CEM. In this case it is more about raw intelligence.
