Can any one please help with this question
Five children Annie,Emil,Cathy,Ben and Dave, were timed in a swiming race.
here are their scores, but not in the same order as their names:21secs,26secs,31secs,26secs,28secs.
Use the information below to find the answer to the question.
Annie was ahead of Dave. Cathy was slower than Ben .Emil was the same speed as Annie. Dave finished after Cathy.
Whose time was 28 secs in the swimming race?
Answer is Cathy's.

Also can't work out the analogy in this question:
novel,magazine,journal,periodical,calendar
Answer is novel and calender

Many thanks.

E and A must be the 2 identical speeds so delete the 26s. leaves DB&C with speeds between them of 31,28 and 21 seconds.
We know Cathy was slower than Ben and faster than Dave so she has the middle remaining speed of 28 seconds.

Sorry brain addled can't do second question

magazine, journal, periodical are all publications which appear monthly or annually etc and are ongoing.

Novel is a one off and calendar is ..a calendar..
