Query - GL Assessment papers Pack 1 - VR test 3 multi-choice
My DD and I have come across 2 questions in this paper where we can't understand the rationale for the answer they want, and would like to know whether we are missing something obvious, or if it's a known error!
Q44
AB is to YZ
as CD is to (?)
The answer they want is WX - how? We'd go for AB [edited - just seen reply further back in forum on this so now understand it is a form of mirror. I hadn't come across mirrors with these before, so will pass on this info!]
Q85
If the code for WINE is DRMV
what is the code for WHISKY?
The answer wanted is DSRHPB - again, we can't work out how!
All input very welcome
Thanks!
Weaver

The second one is a mirror too.

*head slap*
I see it now... thank you! So, a whole new possibility to consider in the VR questions. Hey ho
Never mind - better now than on the day.
Thanks again,
Weaver

Re: Query - GL Assessment papers Pack 1 - VR test 3 multi-ch
Dear Weaver
For long and 2 letter codes [C and U] my children do not start the section until they have set the alphabet up for mirrors. They draw a line between M and N [the mirror] then put 5 on top of E and V [to help with the counting of letters away from the mirror.]
In doing so, it reminds them that there could be some mirror/inverted mirrors included.

Many thanks Patricia - that's a useful tip.
