GL Assessment Pack 1 Question - HELP!!

Absolutely Aargh.

There are 2 Zs in every test worth 1 point each as are all the questions.

Children should take a random guess and move on coming back to the questions once they have finished the test.

Please could someone shed some light in working out Question 30 on paper 3 in the pack.

Sean, Michelle, Jack, Joe and Katie each have a paper round.
Katie earns the most, exactly twice as much as Michelle.
Sean earns £8 per week.
Jack and Joe earn the same as each other: £3 less than Katie.
Michelle is the lowest paid child.
WHich statement is true ?

A - Katie earns £20 per week
B - Michelle earns £3.50 per week
C - Jack earns more than Joe
D - Sean earns less than Michelle
E - Jack earns £9

Please can someone explain the best way of working these ones out. Much appreciated !

The best way i worked this was apply each option to the possibility and obviously saw that nothing other than E fits the bill!
look at option A. If Katie earns £20 then Michelle will earn £10 which isnt lowest so thats out.
option B. If Michelle earns £3.50 then K will earn £7 which is not the highest in that case so thats out.
C. obviously out bec we know they earn same.
D. wrong bec Michelle is lowest paid.

Thanks for your explanation. All clear now, but as others have stated, best they skip these type and leave til last, othererwise too time consuming.
