Re: Help with these questions
For the first one 2 squared plus 5 = 911+ novice wrote:Can someone please help solve this

4 squared plus 5 =21
5 squared plus2 =27
For the letters move back one letter with K and J and then 2 with I and G
With F and C move back 3 and then move back 4 in the same pattern to get the answer.
Re: Help with these questions
Apologies in advance (to bel), but I would like a more detailed explanation for the letters question. Surely the question is asking our DC's to investigate a relationship bewteen two sets of letters.
Ideally, I would like to see the questions being asked without supplying the answers - as is the case with our DC's during the tests.

Re: Help with these questions
I should have elaborated on my earlier post.
The only way I can fit the answer to the question is as follows :-
Taking the first letter in each case, K to I to F (jumps of -2 and -3 respectively so far) - and a jump of -4 would give the letter B. Similarly, looking at the second letters in each case, J to G to C (jumps of -3 and -4 so far) - and a jump of -5 would give X. Thus the answer is BX.
However, I worked this out given the answer and my solution would be more apt if the question was what is the next group of letters in the series, KJ, IG, FC, .....
