doing lots (by that I certainly don't mean 5 a day by any stretch of the mind) of full tests is fine, if scores are improving and its working and DC is reaching the standard required (i.e. practice is working) and maintaining or ideally improving on that. if that's not happening, then there needs to be some focus on where errors are made, time is consumed and marks lost.

If it were me sitting a test like this I would do five hours a day practice of course, but for a ten year old to do that just can't be right. It's interesting because I have just been on the athey site. They say ten weeks' prep should be enough, and that kids only continue improving over about 12 papers. interesting!

5! I've just read on another thread here that a dc does 8 papers a day!! its getting crazy
