Glyn replaces the rear tyres on his car 3,000 miles and those on the front every 4,000 miles

If all four tyres were changed when the car had covered 12,000 miles, at what mileage will he again change all four tyres at the same time ?

15000
16000
18000
21000
24000

Thanks

Hi

The answer would need to be a multiple of both 3,000 and 4,000 to change the tyres at the same time; so 24,000.

I have had a glass of wine so please verify this lol :-)

Yes, you're all correct:

Rear tyres will be changed next at 3000, then 6000, then 9000, then 12, 000 miles and so on.

Front tyres will be changed next at 4000, then 8000, then 12000 miles and so on.

So at 12000 miles ALL tyres will be replaced:

Hence 12000 miles already covered plus 12000 miles = 24000 miles.
