Forgive me if this has been asked before!

Some books and papers refer to the types of questions by letter, others by numbers.

1. Do they correspond? e.g type 1 = A etc? If so where can I find info?

2. Is it standardised between papers/books, eg is type always type A

3> Am I right in believing that the HIKNOS types which Patricia and mike refer to is not applicable to Kent?

As far as IPS and The Tutors is concerned it is quite easy to map question types.

1. Take HIKNOS question out of IPS and placee them at the end of their question types.

2. Number the question types 1-21.

or

Look at The Tutors Verbal Reasoning CD1 Demo, the HIKNOS questions are the last six question types i.e. 16-21.

Some LEAs have not moved to the 21 question types and still use the 15 question type format. Kent may be one of these LEAs, but it is worth checking first.

The first fifteen questions on The Tutors CD are the question types that occur within the NFER preparation papers that can be purchased, and are considered to be the "standard" NFER Verbal Reasoning Questions.

Thanks Mike, I've got teh tutors download, so I'll carry on with that.

According to teh table on this site , Kent only have the 15 types, but I may try a few just to get his brain whirring again after holidays!

Is the VR test standard or multiple choice?

If it's standard then there could be a variation in types.
