Hi we're having problems with a particular kind of question , can anyone help me to explain these questions

5, 5, 10 ,30, 30, 60, ?

1, 1 ,2, 6, 6 ,12, ?

2, 2, 4, 12, 12, 24, ?

10, 10, 20, 60, 60, 120, ?

4, 4, 8, 24, ?

Times the previous number by 1 ,2 ,3 and then 1,2... so the missing value is the previous number times 3

Dear Bexley2 and Guest.

Agree with guests explanation of the first 4.

However 4, 4, 8, 24, ?

It only shows x1 x2 x3 therefore the next in the sequence could be x1 [ stating the sequence again] or x4 [ continuing the sequence] I would tend to go for the continuation of the series as if it reverts back there SHOULD be an extra number given.

Was the question expressed in this fashion or is there a missing number. If a multiple choice question, hopefully only one of the answers would be present. If its a standard question, the poor child is stuffed and at the mercy of the 'marker'

Thanks so much for the answers. I feel as if someone's just opened the curtains for me. The last question was x1, x2, x3, x4 answer being 96. It's all so much clearer now.
