Hi Patricia
I know you have mentioned in previous posts that you tell your children not to bother reading the questions in the 11+ exam and get to answering the questions - but what about the confusion between most similar meaning and most opposite in meaning?
In the tutors CD volume 2, whenever you are given "most similar in meaning" questions, then straight after follows "most opposite in meaning" questions - and if you dont read the question then you can get it completely wrong.... in the "opposite" questions, similar words are thrown in, as in the previous example of "allot and share" where as the real answer was "time and share"... if you didnt read the question, you wouldnt get it right....?

In respect of Nfer 21 types VR Multiple Choice, 3 questions types look similar, these are the ONLY ones that you need to have a quick look at the instructions. The 3 are closest, opposite and compound. The instructions generally have the words closest/opposite in bold. The example given can offer the right type too. e.g Nfer use start and begin [closest] early and late [opposites] and out side [compounds]
