Is he 10+ or 11+?
DS offered 10+ place be we won't be taking it, so one fewer in that group.
Best of luck for your DS.

There will be a lot of movement after March 2nd/3rd. Practically all the boys who get a place at Tiffins who have offers at KGS will take Tiffins. Also there are plenty of other state grammars like Sutton grammar and Wallington who will be offering places in addition to the other private schools such as Hampton. Remember children with multiple offers can only attend one school. You don't have too long to wait now.

I guess it's hard to know how much they over offer, but last year at least 10 children from DS's class were offered places at KGS, and only 2 took them up. So there is a lot of movement. I know someone who was offered a 10+ waiting list place 2 years ago, too, so keep your fingers crossed!

Take heart. KGS is a back up school for both the Tiffin schools and for other very selective schools, so there is a lot of movement. It might be worth ringing the registrar and ask her how close to the top of the waiting list is your child and let her know that KGS is your first choice. It really helps schools to know if someone is likely to take up the place, as they are under pressure to fill up their places before final reply date. Good luck
