sats tests.what should your child be getting for grammar sch
Hi, what level sats do you think would be enough to consider grammar? just curious what peoples general feeling is.should we take the sats results as a benchmark? sorry, new to all this.many thanks
They do say that the SATs levels bear no relation grammar school achievement but it certainly helped me to decide whether or not to try.
My DS has just successfully gained a place at a grammar school. In terms of his SATs levels at the end of year 2, he got level 3s for Maths, Science and Reading Comprehension. Writing was his lowest at 2A.
By the end of year 5, he was level 5 across the board. When we went to one of the school open evenings, they did say that there were a number of boys who had not achieved level 5 but still did well in the entrance exam. So SATs levels is not the be all and end all.
Good luck!
