I'm sure she is! In my daughter's primary school, from 8 girls who took the exam, the best mark so far was 251, then 238, 237, 235, 224, 210. Some of them haven't receive the letter yet or maybe they don't want to share the info.
I know it's just a few girls but you can see that 258 is a very good result comparing with this numbers!! Congrats to your DD!
Thanks doroty. We will try for Tiffin too because we live closer to Tiffin . Good luck for all girls .

Congrats to those whose kids passed.
My dd just passed with 203. She is more confident with wallington.
I am really confused. Need help. Shall i put her on the list with these score?
Is there any hope?
Thanks.

Hi simran01
I would not put Nonsuch on the list of schools for my daugther with that score, I would not get a place at Nonsuch, especially if you have 3 choices, I had 6. Sorry to be crudely honest.
On the more positive side, my DD could not get a place at Nonsuch but did get a place at Wallington.

Hi

DD did not do well at the Nonsuch exam, but she said something weird about the exam which I would be really interested to know whether anyone else's DD mentioned: DD said that one of her papers (NVR I think she said) had two blank pages at the end- she thought there were about 78 questions. Her tutor thought this was an odd number of questions although DD was adamant the number of answer spaces matched the number of questions.

Interested to know if anyone else heard this?

Thanks!

Hi clrdad,

My DD recollection of the NVR exam is as follows; 4 sections of 18 questions each which is a total of 72 questions excluding the practice questions. She usually scores very well in NVR but she said the paper was very hard specially the >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. She scored 249 but we still not sure if that will be enough as we are just ooc. I wish you all the best with the Wally results.

Hi,

This is the way i interpret the standardised scores, using the NFER table..Available on their website

SS* PR* SS PR SS PR
139+ 99+ 109 72 89 24
133-138 99 108 70 88 22
130-132 98 107 68 87 20
128-129 97 106 66 86 18
126-127 96 105 63 85 16
125 95 104 60 84 14
123-124 94 103 58 83 13
122 93 102 55 82 12
121 92 101 52 81 11
120 91 100 50 80 9
119 90 99 48 79 8
118 89 98 45 78 7
117 87 97 42 76-77 6
116 86 96 40 75 5
115 84 95 37 73-74 4
114 82 94 34 71-72 3
113 80 93 32 70 2
112 78 92 30 70- 1
111 77 91 28
110 74 90 26

We need to find out where the DC's percentile is. To do this and take 250 as the example score obtained. Firstly we need to divide this by 2 to get the average standardised score for 1 test = 125. Now from the table 125 sits in the 95 percentile. To estimate where the DC is in relation to to potential rankings you would take the total number of students and mutliply by 100% - the percentile we just worked out. e.g. 1390 *(100%-95%) = 69.5.

NOTE - these calcs could be wrong! but I am pretty confident this is how they are working out the rankings...

Exactly the same words that used my DD. Unfortunatelly, she only scored 235, but I'm not losing the hope... I know several girls who have scored better, who will chose Tiffin as first choise... so maybe if more girls do well at Tiffin as well, we still might have a chance.
Stressedparent, in your case, I wouldn't be stressed anymore. 249 should be enough. :D

Doroty
I understand that 237 was the ooc mark at allocation day, so presumably it might have gone lower in the waiting list.
Just a thought.
