Might be of interest to potential applicants... The Governors have decided to apply for academy status and are running a consultation process with a view to a final decision in November......

If it gives them sufficient power to resist having to give any land to the proposed mega-school next door then I'm all for it.

Changing to academy status would not involve a change in selection. After conversion, any objections to the admission arrangements would be handled by the Secretary of State instead of the Schools Adjudicator, and any changes the school might want to make to its admissions would require the permission of the Secretary of State.
