Hi, just wondered if anyone had any experience to share.I have listed Nonsuch and Wallington as first choices but i am very concerned that the school i put as 3rd choice has come out quite low in the latest league tables. We had heard lots of horror stories of the school but after our visit were really impressed. My daughter really liked it.Has any one sent their child to a school other mums disliked because of horror stories and if so, do you think it really depends on the child how well they do?would appreciate any advice/experience.
many thanks and god luck to all your children

Hi

A few children (approx 10) DS was at primay school last year didn't get into the "better" comp and ended up going to another, smaller comp which has until recently had a very bad reputation. This comp got a new head teacher about 6 years ago (who has now been headhunted to an even worse school) and he really changed it around. The new new head was his deputy and she is following the same path. All the kids that have gone there (after not getting their first choice) have settled in well and most of the parents are quite impressed (you can't please everyone all the time  ).

I think you have to look beyond the school's reputation and also a lot depends on the child and their motivation (both at home and at school).
