The Study School or Westbury House

Anyone have experience of either of these schools in New Malden? If so, any views (both positive and negative) welcome, particularly on the success or otherwise of both schools in encouraging children to perform well at 11+.

Are there alternative independent preparatory schools in the area we could also consider for our DS? Not Surbiton High though as I'd rather avoid a boys only school before the age of 11.

Rokeby on the Coombe Estate is a fantastic boys prep, very academic. We had a choice of there or our son's current school and he preferred the latter, we would have been very happy with Rokeby.
Shrewsbury House in Surbiton run buses from your area. Its our nearest school but we didn't apply because we really didn't like the head ( he was replaced this year), its very sporty, very boysy but not as academic as Rokeby. Alternatively, you will be surprised at how many schools run buses from your area, Epsom schools will and even Surrey schools as far out as Felton Fleet - theres a lot of money in Wimbledon!
Agree about Surbiton, DD is in year 3 but never considered it for DS.

Neither Shrewsbury house nor Rokeby will do any preparation for 11+ though and rumour has it you are asked to leave Shrewsbury house if there is any suggestion of preparing to leave at 11, although this may have changed with a new head.
