Surrey 11+ novice - does this sound OK?

Do you think some of the practise papers are intentionally far harder, so the children relax once they're in there, and realise they can cope with the exam material?

From what I remember the general concensus was Bond level 4 was about the right level.

Regarding Vocab - we were lucky in one test where the word 'supernatural' came up in the comprehension. He'd only just learned that as it had come up in the Bond practice paper he'd done a few days before, and said that if he hadn't understood that word he would have struggled with all the questions. I think the important thing is to learn words in context - from reading or doing practice comprehensions etc
