State Primaries :Grammar School intake
Similar thread is on Hertfordshire region.
It would be interesting to see how many children go to Grammar Schools from State primaries.
From our local school (Kingston borough), the results are as follows so far.
Grammar school places:
Tiffin - boys: 3
Tiffin - girls: 2
Ofsted rating: Outstanding
Year Group: 90
An excellent school. Streaming from year 3 into 3 or 4 sets. Over 50% gets level 5 or above.
Edited:
Final figures for 2012 intake:
Tiffins: 6 (4+2 girls)
Other grammars: 6 (3+3 girls)

Re: State Primaries :Grammar School intake
Very interesting thread. Would also be good if independents post too, that way we can see a clearer picture of the stats for indi vs state.
State school in Reigate and Banstead borough. Ofsted 'good'
78 in year group
grammar places awarded to
2 girls
1 boy

Re: State Primaries :Grammar School intake
Kingston school, 60 in year group
8 grammar school places, 7 Tiffins, 1 Sutton school
At least 10 are going to independents, as far as I know, maybe more

Small school in Wimbledon
Ofsted rating as 'excellent' but potential to be outstanding. To be honest, this is an understatement, it has excellent teachers and wonderful teaching in school!
30 in year group 6
5 boys going to grammar
1 girl (mine) going to grammar
several going to independent

You may be interested in similar information from the other side of the fence.
For our 2011 intake, we had boys joining us from 75 different primary schools. Of those primaries, 10 were independent schools. The largest number from any one school was 6, but that was unusually high - generally each school sent us 1, 2 or 3 boys.

It is interesting seeing the statistics from that point of view. Often helpful when they feel that their child is the only one who won't know anyone at the new school. When my DS started GS there were 35 boys who were the only boy from their old primary school - plenty of people then who don't know anyone else.admissionslady wrote:You may be interested in similar information from the other side of the fence.

Wow, we could do with admissionslady over in Herts so we would not have to work it all out for ourselves!
Hello Surrey, Sutton and Kingston, I am visiting on the trawl for entrance exams that have no catchment area that could be used as mocks. Thank you for any info. DG
