Just thought that those of you who have been successful for 2012 entry would be interested in knowing that Mrs Rowsell will be leaving on 31 August. There has been a lot of speculation as to why (some of it not very nice :? ) but we haven't been given any reasons. Hopefully it's nothing worse than she just didn't want to work there anymore!

Anyway, the hunt for a new head is now on and in the meantime the Leadership team will step into the breach.

Hi 2 out of 3

Yes all a little mysterious at the mo, which only leads to speculation!
I feel a little more info than the letter received to date would be more appropriate.

Last we heard that there is a change at Wallington High as well. The current HT is being replaced by the current Dy. Head at Nonsuch, who was previously Asstt. HT at Wilson's.

Now Nonsuch HT also leaving. Would Nonsuch cope easily with two senior departures at the same time?

Wallington also didn't give much info about departure of their HT. With Academy status, has it become easier for HT to leave or asked to leave?

All girls at the school brought home letter yesterday to say head will be leaving on Aug 31st and will be on leave until then. Her last day in school was pre Easter break. My dd informs me that they have been instructed not to attempt to discuss the matter with staff!

Sudden departure like that would need some explanation by the School, rather than ordering pupils not to seek information from other staff.

It could be that the formation of the academy meant that they came to an agreement with her which included a few months of paid leave. It is just unfortunate that the deputy had to go too.
