Just received the letter... I am so proud my DD has made it to the 2nd stage. She scored 229. Good luck to everyone still waiting.

DG has got through to the Second Round test. :)

She has scored 237 and the cut-off is 214. Any idea whether this would qualify as being a good score? They dont mention the number of girls who sat the test.

Also they have mentioned a raw score but not the highest raw score possible. Anyone in the forum who would know what that is?

Thank you Tiffinboys, your knowledge and continued support had helped us this this time round (DS didn't make it last year).
I've noticed the cut off for progression to stage 2 is a bit lower this year. Wasn't it 219 last year? I wonder what this means. Also, no information on numbers who sat or how many are through to the second stage. All still a bit of a gamble.

This basically means that there were less girls at stage 1 test; effect of catchment and also perhaps the fact the the test was the last one, so less free mock tasters. I estimate that about 1400 girls sat for this test, even though the numbers registered may have been higher.

I expect that stage 2 would have 450 candidates (as stated in consultation docs, though not in DAA). Last year, they had used linear scaling method for calculating combined scores. If they do same this year, then from now on the raw marks would matter; not the standardized scores.

Good luck to your DD.

Must be the dramatic effect of the imposition of such a restricted designated area causing an emormous drop in the standard of applicants which will ripple through the school for years to come. or not...

Restricted?
Looks more like more than 300 sq km (using map tools).

And the cut-off is 107 avg.
Last year was 109.5 avg.
Drastic fall in standards?

@ tiffinboys

Thank you for your response earlier. If VR/NVR marks are 80 each adding up to 160. How is the 100% marks of 280 arrived. Just wondering how the scoring system works. Thank you Ishu14
