Does anyone have any useful feedback from their children about the SET? Is the English like these new CEM tests, or just regular comprehension? I know it's multiple choice, but I just wondered about the content. Any particularly useful practice papers / books? Also, can anyone recommend a good tutor in the Kingston / Sutton area. I know about some of the teaching centres with large classes, but I'm looking for someone who'll do either individual or small group tuition. Please could you pm me if you do? Thanks!

Have you seen cloze books? And also AE vocab books 1 to 12, but perhaps few last ones would be sufficient.

By the way, you could make your own cloze texts. Just cut any item from newspaper or magazines and blank out words as appropriate.

Haven't gone through CEM yet. Some one else may help better.

Some of the books are on sale on this website's shop, e.g.

http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/shop/1 ... t-CEM.html

and also you could see many on amazon, e.g.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_ ... Caps%2C222

Hope this helps.

Just to mention that none of these grammars would admit testing to Level 6. Expected level is 4; Level 5 is more than required from year 6 children at the end of year 6, rather than at the beginning of the year 6, when entrance tests are sat for.

That's life here.
