I am sure DG would give more robust advise. I think Sutton preparation would prepare for QE as well. Tests are multiple choice. English and Mathematics. Making mistakes in maths would result in downfall. Accuracy as well as speed. DC should be able to utilize any available time in checking the answers and re-checking if still has time left. Those who finish earlier and find paper easy, usually (not always) fail to get high score.

Did you go to the open day last week? The place to pick up marks at QE is the comprehension paper. Not many QE applicants really focus on the English or are indeed interested in it. You should have seen the speed the other members of my tour whizzed through the English room compared to the time that was spent in Maths and Sciences! Sutton mock would have been a great preparation for QE boys. DG
