Hi everyone. Dd is going to try for both of these schools. She's been practising doing gl papers. What sort of percentage does she need to be getting to stand a chance? Also will they be testing level 6? And what level should she be getting end of year 5?
Lots of questions I know!
Last one- are the GL papers the ones to do? Are they too hard, too easy or just right?

Historically the answer to that question very much depended on where you lived. If you are a distant applicant then the required standard is very high; if you live locally it is high!

In recent years it could also depend on a girl's particular strengths. Nonsuch seemed to shift its focus very much to English ability when it introduced the comprehension test whereas Wallington stuck with maths and VR. Girls at our school passed one but not the other this year and last year too. I don't know how common that is generally though and it will probably apply less and less as they combine testing.
