A brief summary of the main proposed changes are:

a) The School’s Published Admission Number for Year 7 will increase from 120 to 135. This is to support Sutton Local Authority as part of the phase 2 expansion of Secondary Schools.

b) As the School will be increasing its Year 7 intake from 120 to 135, the school will no longer hold a 13+ Entrance Examination.

c) Entry requirements to the Sixth Form and GCSE grades for specific subjects have been amended.

There are no changes to the arrangements for Year 7 2016 entry. The School will join again with other participating schools to hold a Selective Eligibility Test. The proposed date for this is 16 September 2015. Boys who pass the Selective Eligibility Test will be invited to sit the Second Stage Wallington County Grammar School Entrance Examination. The proposed date for this is 10 October 2015. There are no proposed changes to the information that will be requested on the online registration form for the Selective Eligibility Test.
Also 25 places are now available to Pupil Premium candidates, living in Sutton and nearby
(SM1, SM2, SM3, SM4, SM5, SM6, SM7, KT4 8 - -, CR0 4 - - and CR4 4 - -

Anyone receiving pupil premium / free meal any time time in last 6 year would be eligible in Nonsuch and I think, similar rule applies in many schools.

Perhaps they wrote it in a hurry... No excuse for not checking before publication though.

May be their summary was really brief. After all, they forgot to even mention the change relating to priority for PP children.

The main changes to the policy are:
1. The introduction of 15 places reserved for applicants who pass the entrance test, are eligible for Pupil Premium and who live in the radius of 6.7km from the school
2. The reduction from 80 to 65 places for applicants who pass the entrance test, who live in the radius of 6.7km from the school but are not eligible for Pupil Premium.
3. A clarification of how long we will keep entrance test scripts
4. A clarification that it is the Admissions Committee who will decide eligibility under special medical and or social reasons
5. The addition of Pupil Premium eligibility to the over-subscription criteria for mid-term applications
6. Some changes to our sixth form policy to reference the Pupil Premium in our over-subscription criteria, to automatically offer a place to internal students providing they meet the entry criteria and adding some flexibility on the grades needed to proceed from AS to A2.
Please note that main changes to the draft policy are marked in red type.
The rationale for the main change of introducing some places for those eligible for Pupil Premium in our over-subscription criteria is to make provision in our arrangements for disadvantaged pupils reflecting the recommendations made by the Sutton Trust report on entry to grammar schools for such pupils.

This is a very disappointing change in direction for Wally Girls. I completely understand the pupil premium piece but why introduce that at the expense of local catchment girls is not on. They've now reduced the number of catchment places to just 65. The pool from the out of catchment was much larger (130) and so the pupil premium number could have come from there.
