I'm not exactly sure what you are asking? The Wilsons 2nd round English is likely to give the boys a page or so of information to read, and then they will be asked to write a response which could be in the form of a letter, a diary, a newspaper report etc. They will be given 50-55 minutes for this task. Does that answer your question?

This has been the format for Wilson's for the last 2 years (This is the 3rd year that the exam has been in the current 2 stage format). The school could of course change the format this year, but they have given no such indication thus far.

Last Year the Wilson English test format, was as per LM post.
BUT be prepared for anything, one of the thing that Wilson looks for is a 'width and breath' of English

Ladymuck, thank you, that is really useful info.
In sutton grammar school second round exam what type of writing is expected ?
Will DS have any choices or would need to write on the given topic.. Would he be expected to show the writing plan..
Any help / guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks.

For English,
In Wilson it is likely to be a single Essay based on a 'some' article that will be given to the boys. Writing plans are optional but I think they get marked down for not following the written plan , if the chose to put one in.

For Sutton it is likely to 4 question with very 'wordy' type answers and one small essay type writing 'imagine you are ... '

BUT, the format may change, this is all based on last years exam.

Newdud, I Know that what you have described was the format for WCGS last year. Was it definitely used for SGS too?
