Hi - have just read i the paper that Hampton School is closed due to swine flu, but suprisingly they refer to the commment of the 'Head Mistress' Sure enough, on the website is a 'Ms.......' 'acting Head Teacher'Has Barry Martin moved on? :shock:

No - he's on sabbatical and will be back in September!

Head teachers taking sabbaticals really P me off! Why should I pay fees for the Head to bu**er off on a jolly for a year. If he wants to develop he can take an unpaid GAP year before he takes up his new post. :evil: I have had friends children not get into certain senior schools because the deputy did not write good enough reports and the Head was not around to talk to the school that had rejected them. When he returned he was quite clear that they should have got into X school.

Sorry for being off topic but it struck a nerve!

I think he's only away for this term.

Swine flu is worrying though - dd is next door at LEH and called me this am to say someone on her coach was suspected of having it! Getting a bit close for comfort now.
