Thanks Ed's mum. I'm thinking of you and all the moving stress. I couldn't face the hassle of moving again any time soon, we've been here 18 months and I still have a box full of ornaments that I haven't unpacked because I haven't decided where to put them

Nathair
I certainly remember a similar weekend pickup and drop-off a few weeks back. On tenterhooks barely covers it.
We'll be thinking of you. :)

Good luck to your dd with the exam on Saturday Nathair.

Does she not get an interview with someone from the school? I found this the most worrying part last year (well the afterwards bit anyway  ).

I don't think there is an interview on Saturday, but there is a home visit if we get short listed for the 100% bursary :? I think it's to make sure we're not living a life of luxury. Chance would be a fine thing :D

A home visit? Wow, first time I've heard of that one!!!

Good luck with it all, I'm sure all will be fine.

So Nathair, you need to go for the poor but respectable, clean and tidy look. Maybe a Christian plaque on the wall might help too!

I'm sure she will be fine Nathair - and they'll make it into a nice day. And even if the English essay isn't the very best she can do with loads of time, she'll still be using good language and phrases and hopefully showing off her imagination. I'm sure the markers set a lot of store by that rather than a final polished piece.

Really good luck - it's always agonising dropping them off and knowing you can do no more. Even now!
We had a special chocolate bar for each exam - either waiting in the car or else available for snack/lunch time. I think the sugar is quite helpful if you are getting tired and it's become a bit of a talisman!

perhaps the lunchbox thing is to make it easier for fussy eaters - that they're not stressing about having to eat something they don't want or get hung up on that aspect or pfaffing about with trays - you know how odd children can be about the most unexpected things. Good luck to her! Am sure she'll be fine (whether you will be is the other question but that's our job!)

So I'll take down the Claymore then? I more bothered about the person who turns up freaking out at the snakes  If they run screaming from the house, can I shout after them, "I'll take that as a yes then?" :?

Remove the snakes! Unless you can state that you breed them to study genetic personalities (yes I have used that one  ) you will look more chav than chum!
