It depends on the school. The majority of schools in our area tend to only give 10% for any form of scholarship as it is felt to be recognition of ability now. If the child is outstanding and worthy it could be topped up considerably by a bursary.

The Whitgift foundation schools in Croydon have always traditionally been more generous although there has been a clear trend in recent years to offer a larger number of smaller scholarships with just a very few large ones and these traditionally have been up to 50% but that is very unusual. It has been possible previously to use the offer from the other school within the group to negotiate with the alternative if it is your preference.
