City Boys or Saint Olave's?

Post by dazed and confused »

Hi all
New to this site

We're in the position of our son having a place at both City of London boys and St Olave's. Apart from the money issue, we're trying to decide what's best for him. He's not especially into maths or music, much more into English, history, arts etc. Do these types of kids flourish at St O's? He likes the buzz of City but has more friends going to St O's and not many from my part of London (SE) go to City.
Any views and advice greatly appreciated. City deadline is Friday!

Please don't get offended but I really dislike City Boys - the girls school is quite different. I used to see lots of boys as my son was at St Pauls' Cathedral and their manners and behaviour on the street was really unimpressive as was their dress code. I initially thought they were boys from a rough comp but as my son had a lot of his sports sessions at the school I realised they were not. It is very good academically but I would save your money and the hassle and send him to St Olave's which is a very, very good school.

Off to run and hide!
