Commuting to Merchant Taylors, Northwood

Post by ranmis »

Could anyone help with information about hows boys living in Watford (Garston) commute to Merchant Taylors, Northwood. The closest bus stop for the school bus is St Albans high street which is 6 miles away.

Do you know if the school would alter the bus route to suit us?

Otherwise the only option left for us would be to move house, but difficult to figure out where to move to.

Would the tube be closer? Watford to Moor Park? Loads of boys did this in my day (though admittedly that was quite a few ‘days’ ago  )

Or share lifts, either to school/bus stop/station? I’m sure you’ll find you aren’t the only family travelling from that area.

Could he go to Bushey or Carpenders Park station from Garston and get a bus from there?

Is the problem that you don’t have a car, ranmis? Why not contact the school office and see if they have any helpful suggestions.
