Non-selective independents in the Bromley area?

Post by Bleu »

As a back up plan (if DS doesn't get into Colfe's), I'd like to know of any non-selective private schools in the Bromley/Lewisham/Greenwich areas (that aren't Riverston!).

Thank you

Farringtons is non selective in Chislehurst. I went to visit the school and loved it. It had a very warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. It will have definitely been our back up if my dd did not get into the other schools we applied to.

They have just started taking boys last year but the ratio seemed almost even which sends across a good message. You should go and have a look as we all like different things in schools.

I Believe they have a school bus service that covers Bromley, Lewisham, Greenwich, Eltham and Sidcup areas

Excellent! My cousin has a DS in the prep there; I didn't know that it was non-selective. They speak very highly of it. I will definitely look into it.

Thank you blessedmum, you have been very helpful!

I'm sure I read somewhere that there's a lovely small independent school in Shortlands? I will Google search to find out the name. I think it may be non-selective...

You must be talking about Bishop Challoner, I think? It is a short walk from Shortlands station.

There is an entrance exam but it is not really selective. Lovely atmosphere - a nice, small, safe environment.

Bishop Challoner is a lovely school and the Head Teacher is very nice . As for Farringtons , they do a test , but they concentrate more on the interview and they want to know whether or not you are keen on the school .

What's the point of going private if it's not selective?
