Perhaps the interviewer would think this person is really, really smart? At one of my sons' 7+ interview at Westminster Under, he was asked to read a passage and then say what the moral of the story was. Without hesitation, the 6-year old told the Headmaster the moral of the story. She smiled and said, "How did you know that?" to which he replied, "Oh, I've read that story thousands of times already."
Of course, they want to see who can solve the logic puzzles. This separates the "men from the boys", as they say. If you can't, then the next step would be to see how they would approach the problem to see the thinking process.
