School report from previous??

A pupil who has had a couple of exclusions from our local comp, is rumoured to be in the process of applying to join dc's school next year. The child is known via the group, and was banned from seeing one of dc's friends by the parents, such was the extent of this child's unruly behaviour. Can it be assumed that the school reports from the current school, will reveal the information relating to truancy, exclusions etc., and would that usually be sufficient to prevent the school from making an offer, assuming somehow, that all other criteria were to be satisfied?? Just a little nervous that this child could one day become the bad apple of a rather nice 'green' bushel!
