How do the DC really cope with this in practice (looking for some experience here). DD did just 2 exams a week apart which covered several schools because of the North London Consortium. However, DS has to sit 4 exams in 6 days. What's the best approach, school in between or not? If he's overwrought ditch one at the last minute? He's normally a happy go lucky chap but this seems a tough ordeal for a ten year old....

Take it as it comes. You don't have to plan for it in advance but you can see how he is doing nearer the time. He won't be the only one

Perhaps we all need to wear an orange carnation or wilting bit of holly as I think we will all be in the same queues. We can then all go for a coffee. Ladymuck will join the hand holding /wine drinking threads you have kindly offered to host both here and over on 'the other place'.
