We didn't apply for Habs so the selection for us was made before exam results.
I understand if you have your results and you are still unsure there is a date when the school is open for 're-visit' before the deadline for replies, maybe that would help?
The one thing I have always looked for in picking a school for my DS is watch how the staff and the pupils talk to each other. When I watch my DS talk with the staff at school (on times when he doesn't know I'm looking) they are always very attentive. With time allowed to speak and listen on both parts.
