It's too late now but did you try and prepare Ed for the computerised test? We didn't, not even VR or NVR papers and this week he's been telling me that half of the questions he ran out of time on! I know this test worked for Ed but I'm not sure I like the timed aspect - under 10 seconds in DS's case!
Hi there, I am on lunch-break and thought I would check the Forum.
Did Ed sit a General Paper for the scholarship/bursary, or dd he just do the compterised entrance test. Quite simply, I am trying to establish what a "General Paper" is?
He JUST sat the computerised test. The normal foundation scholarships are only given to those who live within a particular distance of the school. He got his scholarship by doing particularly well in that test, and then having an extra interview - with the Deputy Head.
I've been thinking about this test and Ed must have blown them away because it is unusual just to take the test and interview when offering scholarships. It can be used as general admissions but scholarships often require more indepth investigation i.e. further written papers. Ed must have seriously impressed!
No idea. Not a good time right now to be blowing his trumpet for him, he completely messed up in his chemistry exam despite it being one of his best subjects (expected to get an A*.
