You would think in this day and age and to reduce waste, they would email and not post.

Feel for you, AML, and for all parents anxiously waiting! Did you get any sleep last night?

The schools post rather than email because, I'm told by lawyers, it's stronger evidence in case there is a legal challege down the line. Also, as a practical matter, they need families' decisions in writing anyway.

I suspect that schools would also like to discourage angst-ridden email exchanges with parents who feel 'rejected' or whose kids are on waiting lists.

Fingers crossed, anyway!

We are waiting aswell, DS fairing better than me! Just want the wait to be over now , regardless of the wait am very happy with how my son has coped with this stressful experience!! Good luck to all

Results in. We did not get HABS, which wasn't our first choice. As for St Albans, he is on the reserve list. Don't now how to feel about this? And what the chances are??

Give them a call to find out where he is on the reserve list-someone may be in school today to get ahead with the admissions admin.
Reiterate how keen you are on the school.

We got a yes from City and UCS, no from Highgate. I'd have been happy with any of them so it's almost a relief to have one of them eliminated (well they eliminated us). Feel very proud that he got through exam stage of them all from a state school when we saw the competition.

Sorry Chopsbubbly that you didn't get news you wanted, but maybe the reserve list will move. We were very firmly told by Highgate that he wasn't on a waiting list for them as it would be pointless (or rather more tactful words to that effect).

W are still waiting for Mr Postman. A loooong morning!

Our post is quite unreliable and comes in late in the day or even not at all. I will post our results, even if it will be on Monday!

It has been suggested that we keep a bottle of bubbly in the 'fridge but I think I am in need of some help right now to aid the waiting!
