Hi

Is the GL assessment variety packs numbered 1-8 useful if preparing for Heinrietta Barnet (HB) and independent schools. I am aware that CEM format is what is used for HB, but was just wondering if still worthwhile to use for practice ?

We used them in our preparation and they were great to perfect timing. I would use them especially for the indies where they test VR but timed practice is very useful for 11+ entrance exams around London in my opinion.

GL probably not so useful for HBS though.

Vocab, an alert child with ability to understand and make correlations, solid maths is key to CEM, IMO. Also try FIRST POST, bond and CGP for the child to get an idea on what to expect.

I loved the CEM as the way it's designed, it does not have a syllabus and kid with a wide view to things can get through. Best of luck with ur prep.
