Does anyone have any knowledge of the numbers applying to Highgate at 11. I understand they have an intake of 30 then. Any information about the numbers invited for interview and scholarships also welcome.
This year they are taking 20 boys and 20 girls (approximately). I don't know how many apply but I've heard talk that it's around 400-450 - so pretty long odds. I think they interview around half. Don't know about scholarships.
I hadn't realised the odds were so long! I suppose its partly because everyone applies to several schools. Any idea what the average number of schools is? I don't want to put my DS through too much.
I guess people probably apply to several. I know people who are applying for 3-4. The schools always play down the odds on this basis that some children will get 4 offers and can only accept one etc etc but it is still very competitive.
