It's brilliant school but it costs. You must be assured of your income for the duration of the child's school years and university. Don't forget all the 'extras' like school trips, photos, etc - they don't come cheap.

The distance is an issue, but, more importantly so is the cost! We were pinning our hopes on a sports scholarship (which we were told at the open day could be 50% of the fees). It's just a safety net option really. Even half the fees would be a big burden, but our first choice non-selective school has just gone into special measures.....
