Looks like HABS girls & St Albans High no longer test VR.

Only Maths & English as per their websites -

http://www.habsgirls.org.uk/436/admissions/joining-habs" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.stahs.org.uk/Entrance-Examinations-Senior" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I remember forum members mentioning about VR exams for these schools...
Has this VR test been removed now?

Thanks

This is new this year and is a direct response to SW Herts and DAO and HBS and Latymer all removing old style VR from their tests and replacing it with CEM.

I already knew about the St Albans but Habs as well is excellent news. This means dds can now focus 100% on Comprehension, Composition and Maths.

There is a lot of rote learning in old style VR so I am delighted it has gone. Bye bye Codes!

Now we just need the boy's schools to follow suit. DG

Agree DAOgroupie. If the children are going to spend time learning something maths, comprehension and composition are worthwhile skills that stand them in good stead beyond just the entrance test. VR, not so much!

That is good news in general.
