Congratulations to your DD of getting interview invites from both NLCS and CLSG.

Here is a very good link to fabulous interview tips by Catseye and other veterans.

Here are my 2 cents -

- your DD has done extremely well in the test, and hence called for the interview.

- they will typically ask a few maths questions to check whether the DD is just highly tutored for the test, or her skill in fact reflects the kind of score she received in the test

- they typically ask what book you are currently reading, and they may spend a few minutes to discuss that book

- they will probably ask what is your favorite city (apart from London :D ), and the reasons for liking it

- they can also ask a few personality questions to see whether DD matches the ethos of the school or not.

My DD, who sat the 11+ last year, said that NLCS was probably the most "academic" of her interviews (which included North London Consortium schools and SPGS). In addition to the topics listed above, I believe NLCS interviews also tend to contain puzzle-like questions (happened to DD and her friend who applied the year before). Good luck.

Regarding the puzzle-type questions- When your DD comes home and tells you that they couldn't get the right answer- don't panic! They aren't meant to be able to figure it all out and it doesn't matter. It's to test how they think.
I'm not on duty this year at the interviews.Tell the DDs no one will intimidate them, everyone is very kind and wants them to be relaxed and do their best, the biscuits are for eating because it will help calm them down and they can ask the 'on duty' girls any questions at all.
Parents- Nobody cares what you wear, where you live or how you speak. You will not be interviewed and may only get a brief glance of Ms. McCabe so that there is no whiff of you being interviewed (the school is looking at 7 years with your DD, NOT YOU). Feel free to ask staff any questions. Feel free to ask Parents' Guild peeps any 'stupid' questions. They've heard them all.
Best of luck to all of you!
