Habs girls interviews are out

I had an email yesterday for Saturday. St Helen's was first as they wanted me to bring my daughter the next day itself - bit short notice for leave. Both good schools.

I know of 6 with interviews and 6 still waiting to hear. I really hope another batch will hear today. DG

email says if you can't make it we will give that place to someone else, so I can only assume that the ones that haven't heard will do (hopefully) soon... when people can't make it on the date and time they have given they will reallocate it to someone who can.

Unfortunately the no emails are starting to come through now. I wish they would send them on a Friday evening so students could come to terms with it over the weekend before having to face a classful of students. DG

I understand fully how they feel, my DD didn't get an interview invite from NLCS... their loss.

letter in post saying "Unable to offer as more candidates applied compared to available place"

atleast they shld have mentioned how the candidate performed in exam instead of such generic response.

those who are interested 560 sat the Habs exam, out of that they invited 280 for interviews and will take 125 (approx) including the 45 or so from the little school...

this is what the Head Mistress told us..

Thank you very much, that is really helpful. But tough figures. The preps are not interviewed so that means that only 80 of the 280 interviewed will be offered places.

That is not even 30%, seems very low to me as they should all be academically capable of doing well at the school. DG

Doesn't that mean they take 80 though, so would offer a fair number more? Possibly even double?
