UCL Academy - Upper Private School

Post by OrganicGreen »

Looking for 13+ entry into this school for my son.UCL Academy http://www.uclacademy.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Can you let me know the good and the bad about this school? All information most welcome. Pasterol care, teaching, life at school and academic results. What are the best features of the schooL?

Some schools with high results sometimes push children to drop weak subjects at GCSE so the school results stats look good. Is this school like this? Some schools get high results by focusing entirely on exams and not on giving the children a wider experience, knowledge and developing their interests and interpersonal skills. Is this school focusing on results at the expense of other important areas? Is it a pushy or competitive school?

What is life like for your son or daughter at this school? Do they like it there and why? How do you find the teaching there? How is communication between school and parents? Can parents get involved with the school and how?

Why did you choose or not choose this school? What have you heard about this school?

Many thanks

Are their two UCL Academies? I could only see this one, which is a state school, not private?

Hi OrganicGreen

The link you've given is for a new state school in Camden which is sponsored by UCL.

If you're talking about the "Upper PRIVATE School", you probably mean University College School (UCS) in Hampstead.

In which case you need to post your question in the Independent Schools section of the forum.

On the other hand, given the availability of a state school under the aegis of UCL, I would probably look at that first :lol: .

What year is your son currently in? Is he at a 13+ prep where he will sit CE?

I will move this to independent school section.

I can edit the title if you would like me to, Organicgreen?
