Re: Extras on top of fees
St Albans High School for Girls charges for each GCSE and A level Entry you make. But the grades obtained are highed so the cost is recouped! DG
Re: Extras on top of fees
So how much does it cost for GCSE exams?? I would assume more than the cost of a blazer!

Here is AQA's price list:

No sure what DGis trying to say - what does 'highed' mean?

Re Exam entry costs
As an exam invigilator we are given a spread sheet each year with all the costs involved in public exams and the amount my school (state) spends on exam entry for a 10 class year is eyewatering. They used to enter them all for English and maths at least twice between year 10 and 11 to guarantee a pass, thankfully the new rules have stopped this, so saving a lot of money.
I have just had a look at the AQA website ( I assume other boards fees are similar ) and note that GCSEs cost between £30 and £40 per entry and AS/A2 are between £40 and £60 with subjects like food tech and textiles over £90.
So If a DC took 10 GCSEs it could be £400.
A friend with three girls very close together in consecutive years at a school which charged for exam entry, has had a few painful invoices.

Unlike at your bog-standard state school (wot, even HBS ), your DD is guaranteed all A*s, perhaps?Guest55 wrote:Here is AQA's price list:
